SMOKEY GOODNESS - HOW WE DO IT

Our philosophy comes from a passionate love of food and good times.  Experimenting and tasting to come up with the best, delicious smoked seafood for you to enjoy.

The combination of smoking and brining is the traditional artisan way and the secret to maintaining the juicy integrity of our natural New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels.  Blackbeards Smokehouse operates a traditional brick kiln using heat and old fashioned manuka wood smoke to create a unique traditional product with an exceptional flavour.    We have created our own marinates using where possible the best fresh locally sourced ingredients; fresh local garlic, organic kaffir lime, and NZ sea salt, to name a few.  The result is a 100% natural and preservative free delicious, healthy product.

Hot Smoked and Ready to Eat!  

Our Smoked Mussels:

Cape Colville Chili and Lime (mild);  Hot Water Beach Bum Burner (spicy);  Coromandel Gold (mild);  Sailors Grave Garlic (mild). 

Smoked mussels are perfect for, antipasto platters, canapés, and chowders or simply by themselves as a snack straight from the packet.  So good!  All our mussels are chilled and vacuum packed for freshness in a 210g bag.

Smoked Mussel & Coconut Chowder

A little pot of gold! To give this chowder its unique taste we have used coconut cream with a potato base - this means it is both gluten free and dairy free and like all our products is free from artificial colours and flavours.  This is a seasonal product to warm your soul in the cooler winter months, available from April until the end November.  The Chowder comes in a 350ml pot.  Just heat and eat!! 

Our products are vacuum sealed for freshness and delivered in poly bins on ice to ensure that the appropriate temperature is maintained until you receive them.
